THE "COMFORT BOX"....................A GIFT OF LOVE

While my mom was in ICU my sweet friend Noel drove 3 hours to "surprise me" .....I was
sitting in the waiting room outside her room when she walked up with her "Comfort Box".....

This isnt the first "Comfort Box" she has brought to me or to others she just seems to
show up in many others lives........

This "Comfort Box" was put together to show LOVE; COMFORT; and CARE!


Her "boxes" can be unique and filled with various things. Some of the items included were
the following:

. Water Bottles

. Candy (small bars of various kinds)

. Crackers (wrapped snack types)

. fresh fruit (bananas; oranges) because we tend not to take care of ourselves during these times.

. Nuts ( good source of protein)

. Puddings ( simple little snacks)

. cookies

. pencils or pens and paper

. chewing gum or mints

................................

As the "Comfort Box" sits in the corner of a hospital room many may say " Im not really hungry" but as time begins to go by............one by one someone picks up something; the next
person strumbles through the items picking a small item for them.......others come in later.....
and pick out little snacks one by one.........WHY??? ...........because its a quiet bit of comfort.......

I watched as each person would go by this box ........each time it bringing some comfort to
their soul.........
