THE STORMS MAY COME.......GOD BRINGS HIS SUNSHINE

The weather has been very stormy here the last few days......in fact; thunderstorm warnings;
tornado warnings and heavy rains have filled the skies...........BUT today blue skies prevail and
the Sunsine brightly permeates the surroundings...............

Its been about 5 days since I buried our sweet mom. It has also taken be about 3 days of
rest to finally feel abit normal again.............BUT God brings the sunshine...........and with it
HIS strength.............Strength to have a celebration for our daughter who will soon have our second granddaughter birthday with cake and candles...........Strength to go to my hubbys baseball games again and admire him from afar; Strength to tidy up my home and work with my flowers.............

Yesterday my "sweetest girl" granddaughter and I decided to make grandma's Cucumber and Onions salad for supper. We had such fun with me cutting and slicing the cucumbers and onions and she placing them one by one in the pretty white ceramic bowl..............Grandma's recipe
passing on from generation to generation..........We finished with Grandma Nelsons meatloaf
recipe and baked potatoes; fresh green salad and cucumber and onions..........It was delicious!
Here is the recipe:

Cucumber and Onions

2-3 Cukes ( peeled and sliced into rounds)
1 med white onion ( peeled and sliced into rounds then halved and frayed apart)
1 cup white distilled vinegar
2 cups water
salt and pepper to taste

Allow to sit in fridge for about an hour. Serve cold.

I still think of my sweet grandmas when I taste or smell certain things. :) Love you!
